Television is a very different world today than it was even 10 years ago. What we called premium cable channels are now collectively Streamers. Apple Plus, Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, Max and others are pumping out mini-series and films. The consumer is the winner in terms of a great deal of content but it can also be a bit overwhelming.
I created this for my friends who have premium streaming services to help me when I am sharing with them what I like.
I have always loved film. I enjoy talking about what I have recently seen on social media. This website allows me to refer to more information than what fits in a social post. I now have two Podcasts where we also talk about film. Rethinking Aging Club Podcast and News for the Ages by Rethinking Aging Club. Boomer Tech Talk is now the home of those show notes – also found on Apple Podcasts, Spotify etc. I often refer to films with actors of a certain age or about issues related to aging, a genre I call “aging gracefully”.
The focus of this TV Reviews site evolves. Historically, I have used it as a place to put brief commentary on shows I recommend be they mini-series, long series, films or broadcast TV shows. I have recommendations by genre that are of importance to me. Initially, I launched with Docudramas, Documentaries and Sci-fi. I added Aging Gracefully and Comedy. I also have recommendation pages for Netflix Streaming, Amazon Prime Video and other platforms. All of my recommendations are available via your “TV set” or tablet in the comfort of your own home. A very few for specific genre’s I originally watched on Netflix DVD. I have been converting those to streaming and in some case noting they would have to be paid for. Much of what I watch, I watch with my beloved husband, Ray Gordon, so you will get a man’s point of view on many of these items as well.
I am passionate about intellectual property rights and would never use a service that allows film downloads illegally, so you will not see those options on this site.
